Can someone give me some advice on my summer vacation at Disney World in Orlando, Florida?

This summer my family and I are talking about going to Disney World in Orlando. Since I’m graduating High School, we’ve decided to stay at a Resort. We want this trip to be extra special. We don’t want to pay too much; however, we don’t want to stay at a value Resort. We’re actually thinking about the Polynesian Resort or the Coronado Springs. *I* want a room with a view of the Magic Kingdom. So does anyone have any advice as to where to stay or what to do. Thanks!!

The Coronado Springs is far less expensive than the Polynesian, but the Polynesian is the only one of those two that has a view of the Magic Kingdom. Grand Floridian and Contemporary also have MK views, but all three are high on the price list. The Caribbean Beach is a very nice moderate resort. A lot depends on how many people are going. Understand that most hotels charge per room, but Disney charges per *person.* The Grand Floridian is the most beautiful resort in my opinion, but as I said, it’s also the most expensive.

Polynesian has your view, Coronado has your price tag. One option I think you’d love is staying at the Disney swan or dolphin. It’s not an “official disney resort” but because they’ve been in partnership with disney for soooo long they offer many of the same perks to their guests. Also it’s right next to the boardwalk which is TONS OF FUN with all sorts of stuff to do including ESPN club, Beaches and Cream (really good ice cream), and lots of on street performers. Also the fantasia mini-golf course is right outside the swan and dolphin, and it is my favorite! Also because the Swan and Dolphin aren’t official resorts you can sometimes get room rate discounts that you can’t at the other hotels (which have the room rates planned in schedules a year in advance offering no room for discounts). You’re also only a boat ride away from epcot and MGM and can probably watch fireworks from your room. So yeah, I think it would be a great way for you to go in style. Sound awesome?

Polynesian is the only one of the two I have stayed in, and it was great. It is on the Monorail so getting around is a breeze. Our room did not have a Magic Kingdom view, and we booked it over six months ahead of time. My suggestion is to call and ask which resort has a view with rooms available during your trip.

no view of the parks but just wonderful in the summer and a nice break from the bustle of disney is the Port Orleans. It was like staying in a mansion in the old south.
