If Disney Channel made a new movie focusing on gay teenagers?

I have yet to see Disney Channel even mention ANYTHING about homosexuality. Even though lately they’ve been so focused on teenagers and their lives, they seem to completely miss that entire subject about growing up. It’s like it’s taboo, like the people that run Disney Channel are homophobic :\
Anyone agree?

I’d be pretty happy, I’d watch it :]
I think a lot of parents wouldn’t won’t their children to watch it though, I would let them, but I’m probably biased on that area _
I don’t think they’re homophobic, It’s just a lot of people don’t like homosexuality, they’d lose some audience, It’s better for the rating to not have one.

First off, Disney couldn’t and wouldn’t make a movie based on homosexuality of any kind.
Disney is for children and my god, I can see it now. All the parents complaining about how the company is going downhill, and teaching our children bad things. They’re going to start making their children avoid Disney channel, avoid everything based off of Disney.
It would basically ruin them. It’s just the way it is. I would watch it, probably enjoy it, but my muse would quickly be ruined by the complaining viewers. It’s just something that would be in a parallel universe, definitely not here.

I think parents would riot if they came out with a show featuring homosexuality.

It would be whatever unless they were playing stereotypes.
Probably wouldn’t watch it, I like my life, not what the media was pertray as the gay teenager lifestyle.
No kids, but if I did, it’s whatever.
There a difference between not talking about something or not mentioning homosexuals and just plain out being homophobic.
Possibly they have thought about it but do not want to risk loosing what they’ve built.
The viewers decide if they’re good, remember.
And there’s still a bunch of gay hate out there.

i agree, disney is worried about the parents reactions more than quality shows

I would watch it if they had something like that when i was growing up and going through my teens confused i would have liked a show that would have helped me know that i was not alone and then also it would have made me think that if there is someone else out there that could understand what i went through it would have been good

i’d watch it. i don’t have any children so i don’t have to worry about the 2nd question.
but disney channel is conservative to say the least. and many parents probably wouldn’t approve of a gay teen movie; so they just bypass the subject all together and just risk offending the minority group of the gay population.
so, sorry:( they won’t make a movie like that anytime soon.

Non-starter. They’d lose so much money from advertisers and so much traction with the traditional values types that it would never happen.

That will never happen. I remember them throwing a fit at how Johnny Depp portrayed Jack Sparrow as too effeminate and flamey.
But if they did, I would watch it out of curiousity and I would let my child watch it.

They don’t mention homosexuality because…well, you can imagine the sh!tstorm that would cause. People would freak and be convinced their kids are turning gay because of it. Kids who are homophobic biblethumpers will have negative opinions towards the show and all in all, it wouldn’t be very well received by it’s viewers…
But if they did make one, I wouldn’t watch it. I can watch anything besides Disney.

i dont see it ever happening…Disney is very traditional famiy oriented. which really is a good thing..it should stay the way it is..
and just because they may not agree with homos does not make them homophobic..its a business move..they know theyd lose more than theyd gain if they made such a show..

I doubt if Disney would permit such programs on gays. Bet there are few gays who are the Disney shows.

I’d love the chaos it would cause, people would have to use their ‘reasoning’ instead of being spoon fed, i’d def. watch it. They would have to do it very subtly e.g. long hug.

Have you never seen a Disney movie, they are full of flaming homos. Look at all the HSM movies, the guys only go after girls because they have to, clearly they want male ass.
October 15th, 2009 at 11:32 am
Yeah,right.
if they would ever do a movie about that subject.
i would watch it.
i would love to see Zac efron and nick jonas in action. miley would be really jealous.

Hmmm no they ain’t homophobic did you see a poster about 1 year ago it had something to do with a vacation there and it said family orention and had 2 guys with kids holding each others hands.
Even though lately they’ve been so focused on teenagers and their lives, they seem to completely miss that entire subject about growing up.
But why not see the reason it this who runs Disney
Answer creepy old men. Why do you think 99% of the shows is about teenage girls and 99% of them became sluts.
