How long does it take to rent a car in orlando and drive to Walt Disney World?

I’m just wondering what the average time is to rent a car and drive over to Walt Disney World. I heard that taking the magical express service could take up to an hour and a half which is a long time, but is renting a car and driving longer? I’d be renting a car in the long run anyway, since you can rent one at the world anyway.

I really would like to answer this question in as honest a way possible. But since I really don’t know the answer, I won’t try. I can tell you that I have found the following sites very useful when researching….

20-25 minutes depending on traffic.

Walt Disney is very close to the airport so it shouldn’t take you long depending on the time you are flying in. I guess you are flying since you want to rent a car. Rent at the airport it would not take alot of time.

my best guess is 20-30 minutes depending on where in orlando you are coming from and the traffic.

Between the rental counter and the drive, less than an hour. But, as you know, things can always go wrong.

at a car rental counter, it could take anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour, no way to tell, just depends on how crowded it is when you get there. the drive is probably 20-30 minutes, but sometimes could be more if bad traffic. just depends on when you want your rental car. but i have heard complaints that it can take a long time (like 6 hrs) to get your baggage from magical express

Door to Door about an hour, 10 minutes to Rental Counter, 20 minutes in line at Rental Counter, 30 minute drive from Airport to WDW. Magical Express is a good choice for people staying on property and not renting a car…bad choise for someone who wants to go somewhere other than Disney while in Orlando

Minus the waiting in line for a rental car would be much faster. IOA is only about 25 mins from the air port! Good luck and i hope you have fun with your family!
