Because of family obligations we won’t be arriving to Walt Disney World in Orlando until January 2nd 2009
Will it still look like the Christmas holiday season?

Of course it will. Wait until you see how beautiful the castle is lit up. Make sure you watch the parade. It’s wonderful! Have fun!!!

Some of the celebrations like the Holidays around the World in Epcot’s World Showcase end on December 30, 2008. Others though, like the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights (Hollywood Studios) and the Jingle Jungle parade (Animal Kingdom) run through January 4, 2009. Downtown Disney’s Festival of the Seasons is done on December 24, 2008.
I guess it really depends on what park you go to and what you consider to be “holiday season.”

The decorations will still be up, but some of the “events” won’t still be going on. I have been in January, and it seems to me that they didn’t start taking stuff down until several days into January - around the 10th or 12th I think.

I usually go the second week of January and not all of the decorations are still up.I have never seen the castle lights but have seen the big Christmas tree at the entrance to each park.
