I don't really have a favorite disney movie because as I got older I realized that they all have the same meaning and idea behind them (all the princess ones anyway) I like them all. I am a hopeless romantic and a Disney fan but my favorite character is Eeyore I think is is so adorable

The previous reponder's advice about not having a step-by-step plan is wrong! The worst thing you can do is stand around in the middle a park holding a map and argue with your family about where to go and what to do next. That causes stress!

Me, my wife, and 2 sons aged 10 and 9, had our first Disney World vaction in July, '08.

With having to spend that kind of money for something we probably won't get to do again for several more years, I researched and planned almost to a fault. We bought the airline tickets 9 months in advance and the park tickets 6 months in advance. In the months leading up to the trip, I spent countless hours researching the internet on Disney's website, allears.net, yahooanswers.com, and anywhere else I could find Disney information. I bought The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World 2008 and studied the attractions available, places to eat, and anything else that looked like fun.

Finally, to create the final itenerary, I went to the Disney website to see what days each park had extra magic hours. Since we were not staying on property, I scheduled to AVOID those days. We used the touring plans in the guide book at each park. The boys were instructed that after we finished the plans, they were free to go back and ride their favorite rides, but we were finishing the plan first! I estimated where we might be around lunch time in each park and looked for the highest rated restaurants in each park.

By the way, the guidebook we bought is the absolute best money I spent in preparation for our trip. Using the touring plans we never waited more than 15 minutes for any ride! Yes, even during July! If you've never used it, go buy it now. You won't be disappointed.

Not all plans are absolutely perfect. We had a few hiccups. Our flight out to Orlando was moved up to a 7:00 a.m. departure, and our return flight was cancelled all together! We stayed in a hotel the night before near the airport so we could park-and-fly out and had to find another hotel in Orlando the night before coming back since we had to schedule a return flight the day after we originally planned on coming back. I did not take my own advice and went to Hollywood Studios on an extra magic hours evening so my wife could watch Fantasmic on her birthday. While we loved the show, we won't ever go to a park on extra magic hours again because it was so crowded in the evening you literally had trouble moving around the park!

Anyway, I may have overplanned a bit, but I wanted everything to be as perfect as possible. I think I did a good job, because as we were leaving, by boys asked when we could come back. Anyway, with realistic expectations and planning, any trip to Disney will be memorable.

The best advice I can give anyone going to WDW:
1. Find out which rides are the most popular and go and do them or get fastpasses for them (or both!) right away
2. Make reservations for dinner if you want to eat in popular places
3. Don't have a step-by-step plan. It just causes stress and it's just not worth it.

Enjoy your trip. We just booked yesterday for a trip at the new Bay Lake Towers for December!

Me and my family rent a house in Kissimmee every February break, we stay for 7 days and we go to disney 3 days and sometime universal one day. We always eat at a restaurant or quick food service in disney world. We swim in our own pool and have a fabulous time.

Favorite Disney movie is Fantasia. Not sure why because it's just classical music but I love how they put animation to music.

Winnie the Pooh is probably my favorite Disney character.
